If you have damp proofing tackled thoroughly, the costs often quickly mount. The government therefore provides grants to partially reimburse the financial costs. Grants for damp proofing are available at the regional level (Flemish grant for damp proofing) and at the regional level (city and municipal grants for damp proofing).

Damp control premiums at regional level

Since October 1, 2022, you can only apply for the Flemish renovation grant at the regional level. This overarching renovation grant replaces the old system with the previous renovation grant and improvement grant. Therefore, you can no longer apply for the Flemish improvement grant. Applications for the previous renovation grant are also no longer possible. Do you live in Flanders? Then you may be eligible for a Renovation Premium if you have your walls treated against rising or penetrating damp. You’ll also receive a premium if you have your home treated against mold and fungi, such as cellar fungus. This premium is also valid if you have preventative work carried out, such as plastering the exterior wall to prevent penetrating damp or having another preventative damp treatment carried out. How can I apply for damp control grants?

You can apply for the renovation grant through ‘Wonen Vlaanderen’ as soon as we have completed the work. You will also need to submit proof of payment, which we will provide after payment.
