for all your moisture problems
Rising damp, also known as capillary damp, occurs when building materials such as brick or lime come into contact with a damp surface. These materials have an open pore structure and act like a sponge: they absorb the moisture upwards, just like a sugar cube.
The result? Walls that remain constantly damp and damage to paint, plasterwork or wallpaper.

“Rising damp causes damage to your wall finishes such as paint, wallpaper and plaster layers”

Aquavent is the market leader
in damp control

How do you recognize rising damp?
Rising damp is often recognized by visible damage, such as curling wallpaper, saltpetre that pushes the paint outwards, or loose plaster and skirting boards. Do you hear the finishing layers sounding hollow? Then you are probably dealing with rising damp.
With rising damp, you always see the damage on the ground floor or in the basement. As a market leader in damp control, we offer a free diagnosis and confirmation.
What is the cause of rising damp?

Why tackle rising damp?
If you suffer from rising damp in your home, this not only causes clear damage to your finishes due to salinization, but also has consequences for the residents. After all, the rising damp constantly evaporates in the living areas and causes increased humidity and possibly mold growth.
If you place furniture against walls with moisture problems, it will also mold or rot. Moreover, a house with a moisture problem is not popular when selling the house.
Why have a damp diagnosis performed?
Not every rising damp problem has a simple cause, such as a wall in the ground that absorbs moisture. The correct treatment always starts with a thorough diagnosis and a careful treatment plan. Every house is unique, which is why our Aquavent expert comes to the site to analyze the situation and propose a customized solution that addresses your problem.
During the visit, moisture measurements are taken and salt samples are taken to determine the level of contamination. In this way we look at the exact situation on site and discuss the most suitable total solution.

How do we work
Our approach combines professional knowledge with careful execution, so that every step contributes to a lasting result.
Our approach to rising damp
First, we thoroughly investigate the cause of the rising damp. We carry out moisture measurements, look at the visible damage and determine how serious it is. Based on this, we draw up a treatment plan that precisely matches the situation in your home.
It is not only important to tackle the moisture itself, but also to repair the damage caused, so that your walls are completely dry, healthy and finished again.
How do we dry walls?
After the damp treatment, the remaining moisture in the walls will slowly dry out for a few months, although the new damp-proof course works immediately. In the event of existing damage or serious salt formation, an additional salt treatment is recommended.
This prevents crystallization and makes it possible to finish the walls again immediately, so that the impact in the room remains limited. The correct approach depends on the damage and must always be carried out by an experienced professional.
How do we treat moisture damage?
Depending on the wall and the specific situation, the choice is made between injection or undercutting, an intervention that may only be carried out by specialists. Because undercutting can affect the stability of the construction, we often avoid this method.
With wall injection, we first determine the correct technique (under pressure or with silane cream), depending on the wall structure and working environment. Then we determine the injection height and drilling distances. Execution by experienced experts is essential.
What does it cost to treat rising damp?
The cost of treating rising damp depends on the length of the wall to be treated, the wall thickness and the chosen method. With injection, the price averages between €60 and €100 per linear meter.
The thinner the walls and the more meters that are treated, the lower the price per meter. The repair of wall damage after treatment varies greatly per situation. An on-site visit is necessary to make a correct estimate.
Not treating moisture problems always costs more in the long term than a professional solution. Moisture does not stop on its own, can rise further and increase repair costs. In addition, moisture increases heating costs, causes mold and reduces the sales value of your home.
Timely treatment with a guarantee keeps your walls dry, prevents damage and preserves the value of your house.
